My message to you, Gloucester

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to care about our city's government and reading up on me quickly. I was once told the only pre-requisites to run for Council were to (1) be a resident and (2) to care. In my time here I have become more than qualified in both. Those that know me, do so as a passionate and creative individual, and I like to think I have a good moral compass. I've shifted to the latter as I've gotten older, and have found my passions moving back towards helping others. For over a decade I have gotten to know so many of you, and have developed deep, lasting friendships here. It is because of these friendships and interactions that I have decided to shift my leadership and critical thinking skills to being one of your four At-Large Councilors for this November.

I believe in local government, and its ability to hold a community together. Many of us are uneasy with various things that have transpired all across our city. While it is easy to point fingers behind us, the past is in the past, and we must move forward together. I believe that with the right core group of leadership we can fortify the community's trust and belief in its government. This will take time and prudent diligence, and I am incredibly eager for the opportunity to be a part of Gloucester's radiant future. We must, as your leaders, forge FORWARD together, as a cohesive unit, with one clear goal: Serving Gloucester.

I also believe, that with some hard work and a lot of grace and humility, we can build up an inclusive home for all of us. We are a diverse city, with diverse needs, and we all deserve a representative that will stand for everyone, not just those in specific demographics. I believe I am that person. I will remain honest, proactive, and perhaps most importantly, steadfast in what is best for all of us, within the best of my ability. Some of our most vulnerable groups are growing rapidly in size, and we will be faced will "big city" problems much sooner than later if we are not hyper-aware of those in need.

Gloucester is your home. It has become my home, and you all have become my neighbors and friends in so many ways. In the years I've gotten to know you all, it's time for you to know; I've heard your frustrations and your calls for action. I am here for you, and for your loved ones. I will work on keeping your children safer, in and out of schools. I will fight for our economy, while keeping Gloucester's heritage in prime focus. I am prepared to step up and help us turn to our next chapter, but it will take all of us, together.

I am eager to learn, excited to get started, and don't take no for an answer. I believe in safety, community inclusiveness, and making sure we can all afford to live here before it's too late. With your help and support, we can do just that, but we have to start now, and we have to stop talking about how possible it all is and just GET IT DONE.

Thank you again, and don't forget to vote this November!!
